The first caller to prayer in Islam, Bilal Habashi (RA) was set free by Abu Bakr (RA). When the Prophet (saw) received the first revelation from Allah and when he was taken to the heaven (al - Mir'aj). Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه believed the prophet (saw) and stood firm by him. Thus, he earned the title of as-Siddiq', which means a very strong and honest friend.
